Site Update: SOTR Online 2.0
Something looks a bit different around here! After several months of great feedback and suggestions, we've given Shepherd of the Ridge Online a significant overhaul. Most noticeably, we've given it a new look and changed the front page to hopefully make it more visitor-friendly. Also, Facebook users can now link their Facebook profiles to their Shepherd of the Ridge accounts, so if you're logged into Facebook, you'll automatically get logged into this site! We've also added forums to every group to encourage tangents, questions, and discussions beyond the topic at hand (because we really need encouragement to go off on tangents!). Look around, and you'll find even more changes, and while you're poking around, if you see a comment form, make sure to leave a comment!
These changes are really only the tip of the iceberg, and you can expect many more improvements over the summer and hopefully a steady stream of improvements on an ongoing basis for years to come. Your feedback (See the comment form below?) will help us know what changes to make. Throw some suggestions our way! What new feature or change would you like to see here? What did we change that you wish would change again or go back to the way it was? What are you having trouble finding on the site?
What's coming soon?
- Tutorial videos to explain how to use certain parts of this site.
- A mobile site
- Better integration of bulletin and newsletter announcements with this site. Eventually, by the time you read it on paper, you'll have already seen it online.
- Improved audio and video for our streaming services
- This fall: a global interactive study on the Book of Genesis
- See that dark blue rectangle behind the title at the top of the page? We can put pictures behind that. Send us some!
What's coming eventually?
Dream with me. What absolutely amazing (or mundane-but-useful) new features or content would just be amazing if there were only a way to do it? We can probably do it, so dream big. What new groups would you like to participate in? What do you need? Daily devotions? A parenting discussion group? An unemployment support group?
